  3. To run the Pacific General Demo, from
  4. the Start button, go to Run and type:
  5.     "D:\Pac-Demo\setup.exe"
  6. Where "D" is your CD Drive.

  8.         Imperialism Demo

  10. Welcome to the Imperialism Preview Demo.  
  11. You must run the demo through Win95.  
  12. This demonstration version was created 
  13. to provide you with an opportunity to 
  14. experience the general look and feel of 
  15. Imperialism.  Several shortcuts and 
  16. allowances were made to make this demo 
  17. easy to play.  By making the demo easier 
  18. we have eliminated some of the early
  19. challenges that will be provided in the 
  20. final retail version of the game.  Rest 
  21. assured that all the challenges and the
  22. ability to play at more difficult levels 
  23. will be provided in the final retail 
  24. version of Imperialism.  Many of the 
  25. final features are not available in this 
  26. version.

  28. You will only be able to play for the 
  29. first ten years of the game, just enough 
  30. to get the flavor.  There is extensive 
  31. online help to get you started.  If you 
  32. need to consult the online help press 
  33. the "?" button which is found in the 
  34. upper right corner on most of the game 
  35. screens.
  36.  
  37. If your Win95 Taskbar appears in the 
  38. game, ensure that your task bar settings 
  39. are set to "autohide" and NOT set to 
  40. "always on top." To check, move your 
  41. cursor over the taskbar and click the 
  42. right mouse button.  Select "Properties" 
  43. to bring up the Taskbar Properties 
  44. dialogue box.  Make sure "Always on Top" 
  45. is not checked. "Auto hide" may be 
  46. checked.  If you make a change, make sure 
  47. you left mouse click on "Apply" before 
  48. exiting.

  51. Some known bugs:

  53. Occasionally in the tactical battle 
  54. moving a unit may cause a crash. If you 
  55. place a civilian unit in a minor power 
  56. in which you have an embassy and order 
  57. them to work, the game may crash.
